LaVern has been a traffic reporter in Nashville, Tennessee for over 26 years.

As children joined their family, LaVern began to write stories. Stories, that were simple to write because of the insanity of their lives. Each one features a list of ‘Po-Billy Realism’s’ on the last pages of the book. Realism’s are the real life facts that feed each of these stories. The entire series tries to maintain a very Americana feel. Stories filled with events we all remember from our childhood. A childhood Mark and LaVern have tried to preserve for their boys on the family farm in Tennessee.

Mark has always called the boys Po-Billy’s... he is Polish and LaVern has always been called a Hillbilly.... so it was pretty obvious what the title of the series had to be.
